Ready for day 4

We welcome you to day 4 – the absolute finest terrain – a bit hilly terrain with old spine and good visibility – a lot of downhill running. Remember that 3 out of 4 races count in the total standings – still a lot to fight for. You can find course 14 here, as you see the start is right above the arena.

Results day 3

We have now published the results from day 3 at Eventor. It was a long day for the organizers as some runners arrived late at the finish. We have now published all the courses.

Transport of team tents

We offer transport of team tents from the parking to the arena. You will have to leave the tent at the entrance to the parking you are assigned at 1400 latest. It is roughly 1.5 km to walk, the first part flat and the rest gravel. It is possible to take a shorter route halfway up the hill, it will save you 2-300 meters.

Recommendation after day 1

Quite a few runners forgot to put the Emit badges on the start unit before they started their race – this led to a number of not qualified races which we manually had to check – this also delayed the results. We ask you to remember to put the Emits on the start units 5 seconds before you take the maps.

Bulletin

Solved: Technical problems in Eventor

Now solved! We have not succeeded in uploading start list to Eventor. The problems have been there for a while, but due to holiday they have not been solved. We are working on it, and hope to succeed later today. We have now uploaded .pdf files as backp. The start bibs are printed with start times.

In Olav Lundanes’ backyard

We had a talk with Olav Lundanes which has grown up at Eikenosa, the heights situated house in Ålesund that also is at the neighbor map we will use on day 3. Olav has given us a nice insight into his experiences with Fjord-O, where he only was 3-4 years old when Emblem IL staged Fjord-O last time.

Torgeir Strand – experienced runner from Emblem

Torgeir Strand started his career in Emblem IL, but have now for many years representet Fana IL from Bergen. Torgeir entered this years Fjord-O very early, and he also participated in 1988 og 1992 when Emblem IL also staged Fjord-O. Skåla Mountain – the longest uphill hike in Norway.

The hike to the summit of Skåla is recognized as the longest uphill path in Norway giving a vertical rise of 1848m from the fjord in Loen to the top.
